Duplicolor or now Rustolium automotive spray paints at the local automotive store, and some masking tape with masking paper, or remove the bowtie.

Just rough up the gold part with 600 wet sandpaper, wipe it clean, carefully tape the edge where the chrome and gold come together. Use plenty of news paper, masking tape and some drop cloths so that you don't get overspray on the rest of the car finish.

Paint is probably most effective and permanent. Another way is to use an overlay. These are available from some vendors on the site as well as eBay. These have been on my car for about 3 years and have held up well. You can get them in most any color and they come with or without a logo.
