looking for headlight options

I bought some $5 800 hour rated 5000 or 6000k which are nice and white, and I just noticed one burned out.

So I can either buy another pair or upgrade to HID or something.

Looking for options here

clearly $5 is good enough for me.

I don't mind replacing them all the time.

They have lasted since about 4/20/2012 so for $5 I think they are great.

But I don't WANT to have to replace them often.

I also don't want to have to pay $100+ for bulbs or HID's and what not.

Are there any 6000k bulbs that are rated for longer life?

I don't want brighter either. Just whiter than stock yellow color

these are what I bought

Since these only lasted you a couple of months, odds are you or something touched the bulb duirng installation. Cheap or not, they should last longer than that.

Bulbs aren't listed by miles driven.

They should have lasted longer even for 800 hour bulbs, assuming you work a Monday-Friday gig, and you average 65mph on your commute, you have approximately 156-170 hours on the bulbs.

One tip to make the replacements last longer is to assume that even though you didn't touch the glass capsules, someone did. Take an alcohol swab and carefully clean the capsules right before you install the bulbs.

Kind of off topic

But my bf keeps trying to get me to put HIDs in my HHR because he loves his so much. They're too bright and I don't know the difference in brightness that they come in, I don't want to blind other people as I'm driving.... *shrugs*
