Modding backup lights for 3157 bulbs

Yeah, I didn't have the stones to start cutting the metal, and I try to keep my mods easily reversible. I liked the double red look, but didn't want to relocate or remove my backup lights.

Your mod is what got me thinking about a way to do similar w/o moving backup lights


He disabled the turn signal/stop functions on the top so they are just solid now
Sort of. I thought I might have to cut the wire to blink on the top bulb, but the LEDs I put in don't have a big enough resistor to make a big difference between dim/bright. In-person you can see them blink ever so slightly.

I can still put the origional reverse lights back in, just need to put bulbs in them and plug em' in. The lenses fit, even with the metal trimmed, but I can definitely see why someone wouldn't want to do it. I was very hesitant myself, but gave it a go.

Im sorry, but

WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS???

194 bulbs are much cheaper and easier to work with.

I have some $1 9 smd bulbs that fit right in, are much brighter than stock. And a pure white coloring...
