Thanks guy's
I posted some time back about a mesh overlay grill sold on EBay and asked if anybody had installed it. No one had and it got me to thinking (bad idea, lol.)
Researched and found a spray chemical solution to real chrome plating called Cosmichrome.
You can view the process on YouTube, as I don't know how to post one of those on a forum.
I had quotes of $700 to $1000 to chrome plate the grill.
An EBay find came up with a OEM mesh insert for $60 and a business in PA did the spray process for $300.
I was thinking of changing the look of the Bow Tie but the gold blends with the black and chrome.

From what I found these two show the process, I'm not promoting anything or company

There's also a product called spectra chrome. Very similar, looks great catman! Can the company in PA do colored chrome as well? That was one of the big things with spectra chrome, anything can be chrome plated in any color.

Not advertising either, a couple months back I saw an infomercial and watched the whole 30 minutes...lol

Really neat process, I would love to get into it but it's a substantial start up cost. Somewhere between 7-10k. I'll stick with the powder coating for now.

Yes, the PA company can do different colors also.
My research found that Cosmichrome was a better product than Spectra Chrome.
