Yes, seems JP is very detailed. I guess he's in the right biz, eh?

LOL yeah I followed the right steps but it didn't come out right. Mine are spotty...I don't think the nightshades covered as well i thought. So I'll be trying it again. The clear coat came out perfect but it's the tinting under the clear isn't so good.

Thank you! That would be the exact reason I'm a detailer.

I feel so lazy compared to some of you folks. My nite-shades prep was a dawn dish soaping, a simple green scrubbing, and then a good filtered water rinse....I ended up with a little spot in the middle of one that you can see up close when I hit my brakes...but it was because I painted in my shed and a little spec of dust fell while they were wet.

I didn't get any orange peeling. It looked like I might, but I went back over them with a heavier coat than I would for paint, and it seemed to smooth right out. The night-shades seems more like an acetone+dye combo than real paint; as soon as I went heavier, they glossed right up and stayed that way.

I may sound boring or unadventurous but I really get nervous when it comes to these permanent changes. Does anyone make a tail light cover? That way, if I don't like it I can just take them off...

You might use window tint instead paint.
