I tried the search and the only thing that came up was the inner. I want to swap my outside handles out for black ones, or at the very least get the body shop to paint my stockers. Any write-ups about how to remove them?

Pull on them really really hard.

open the door and remove the red decal or black rubber plug and get a torx T25 and remove the screw and slide out the back part of the outer door handle. Then slide the main handle back slowly or you will break the inner handle housing. You should feel a click and then your ready for the install of your new handle.

Some, if not most/all that I have seen (not that many) the chrome is a plastic cover.
