I tried to apply duplicolor black chrome with not good results. To have a good painting work, I would suggest you:

- Sand with 600 grit sandpaper.
- Apply primer.
- 2-3 paint coats.
- 2-3 clear coats.

Is not big deal, although I suggest you to remove from the hood.

Ahhhh! dont paint it! Im a big fan of chrome and I cant stand when someone paints chrome on classics and muscle cars..... but if you must.... then give it a try and maybe it might look ok....

if you want to see what it will look like, pick up some plasti dip at lowes/home depot and spray it, then you can leave it, or peel it ,off and paint it permanently if you like it is available in a few colors and super easy to use, comes off really easy when you want it too

Before you paint a chrome one, see if somebody want's to swap a matte silver LS grill for your chrome one.... easier to paint and they may rather have chrome. (Some people DO like it, you know )

Trade?

I have a new uninstalled brushed grill that I would swap for black chrome.
