So I’ve got two questions on modifications to an HHR.

Question one:

Has anyone here installed a police-style spotlight on their driver’s car door ever before on an HHR? And if so what was the process you went through to make it work for the HHR?

Question two:

Has anyone in the HHR community done or knows of anyone who’s done a modification to the way the rear hatch on the HHR opens? I’ve been playing around with the idea of making my rear hatch open from the side like an old ambulance or hearse style with the door swinging out as opposed to lifting up. Also making the latch manual and not connected to the electronic release, just making a regular lock/unlock with a key and an old suburban latch and hinges. Has anyone ever modded their HHR’s rear hatch in anyway like this?

 

Coulda been someone, but I don’t recall that, somebody was trying to make barn door style rear doors.
