Window Tint

Does anyone know what percent tint that the factory back windows are in my 2006 HHR? It's just the right darkness to look good & see out of at night. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

CJ-Five, you might want to check with your local law enforcement, as tinting the front two windows cannot be more than a 35% light reduction

Window tint

Thanks. I know this. I was wanting to find out so I could put the same grade of tint on the back window of my Silverado.

A good tint shop, not a "fly-by-night" outfit will be able to tell you

Tint

Thanks everyone. I own a black 2013 Silverado & that shade of tint should look great in the back window. I appreciate it

Probably should mention again....for those that do not know.......

Light transmission on OEM windows is printed on the window with the manufacturer's name and other safety information.

For example, my '06 HHR has, "Min. 21% light transmission" on the rear passenger doors and the rear cargo area windows are 20% light transmission. The front door windows are minimum 70% light transmission do to many states require more transparency for the front (and 70% was selected as a minimum to comply with the various state requirements).

Check out autozone for gila peel and cling.

It's $12 a pack and works great.

They also make a higher grade that is 99% blocking of UV and what not. It's $20 but I'm not sure if it's also static cling.

PM me for more info. I have done the 3 back non-moving windows on my HHR and it looks great. Took me 10-15 minutes for the rear side window. I only used water to apply it and it peels off in 1 second - literally. I would not use any permanent tint that requires adhesive.
