Dashcover install

Living here in Fresno Ca we get a lot of sun and high temps. So I always used a a dashcover on the cars. Summer is coming on and needed to get one for the HHR. Called California Car Cover and ordered one in the dark grey in the brushed suede. While I was at it I got one for the 03 Camery the wife drives. They got here last night and installed hers and went on like a charm. Decided to hold off on the install of the HHR till this morning.

First I wiped the dash off with rubbing alcohol and let it set. If you are looking at installing a dashcover have a good supply of velcro with you. They never give you enough to do the job. Due to the roughness of the HHR's dash the more velcro you use the better the fit will be. I started at the headlight sensor and worked my way to the passenger side then to the drivers. Due to the upper glovebox and airbags cutouts, more fitting and tugging and yes more velcro is required for a good fit and flush install. overall I like the outcome. The color is just a shade off of the dark grey upper color of the dash but it is not something to cry about. My woodgrain dashkit will be here in a few weeks so I think they will go well together in the car.

Looks good . Will it interfere with the top storage compartment door?

No. It does not seem to be a factor. I did velcro it down on the lid in about 5 places just to get it to set flat even when open.
