Installing Alarm?

Ok Has anyone here installed a after market car alarm on the HHR.
I am looking at a few different alarms and starter combos, but not sure how to hook it up. Thanks

Best of all, no warranty questions.

Well at least get the dealer to install it, I see threads all the time about how this or that went wrong , down the road, and the dealer does`nt want to touch it...
6 months go by real quick.
Besides, the one I have has a "don`t activate starter" feature to prevent burning up starter when you put key in to leave, after remote starting.
Just be careful, don`t want to read about your problems, only how good it works, next year...

Well that is what I was thinking of doing. Taking it to the dealer to get it installed, but I work in a shop my self and have installed remote starts and alarms. I was just woundering if this car was different in anyway. Never put one in a 2006 model before. And being a repair tech my self I don't really want to pay someone 86 bucks an hour to do something I could do myself.

If you feel compotent, go for it.. I was speaking in general terms. With a little time I probably could do it also, but the thoughts of my Cruck in the shop deters me.

I use to install alarms/remote starts for a living. I've always love the Viper alarms. If you go to a good dealer they will warrany their work for life and Viper is Lifetime I believe too.
