Interior Water Stains

My 07 LT has the dreaded light grey interior, which is showing those terrible water stains in all of the seats. I have been looking at some seat covers on Ebay and Coverking, but don't wanna pay $300 for seat covers. Has anyone had any luck with any of the $50 - $100 seat covers on Ebay?

I'm not much of a fan of seat covers, but have you tried cleaning them with a good cleaner? I find ours stain real easy just from clean water - but a quick clean with an upholstery cleaner gets them looking almost like new. One does have to clean the WHOLE section though, and not just spot clean, otherwise one will be left with a stain ring.
Turtle Wax Power Out! Upholstery Cleaner works pretty good
or Prestone Interior Cleaner (my current favorite) - both come with a plastic bristle brush top to scrub in the cleanser - just follow the directions on the cans.

I have also used our home carpet shampooer with the upholstery attachment with great success when I want to do an extra good job.

Some of the neoprene covers look pretty good when installed, as they fit quite tight - my neighbour has them in a Miata, and they look pretty sharp really (no idea what the brand was tho').

When we bought our 2LT, the first thing the wife said was the seats, which were slightly stained, would have to be taken care of by the professional detailer we have used for years. He has performed wonders over the years with a couple of our cars. After getting the HHR back from him, the seats were a little better, but not what we were expecting.
I'm interested in also hearing what cover is recommended. I don't see these stains ever being eradicated.
