Rear carpeting? Need tips/advice.

Has anyone tried carpeting the back of the rear seats and the panels/covers in the back of their HHR? Just wondering how you did it? Ive never done anything like it before, so Im looking for tips. I was thinking that cutting 5 individual thin trunk carpet sections to fit each piece would be best, leaving the space between each bare... But Im not sure what kind of adhesive to use, or if it would even work because of the raised grooves on each section.

I've looked at some of the full size covers that are made, and I just dont think they would work for me. I want to have easy access to all the compartments in the back without having to remove some cover every time, or have to remove whenever I do put the rear seats up.

You have the right idea, and folks have used Velcro to attach the various pieces of carpet to the rear of the back seats and storage compartment lids. Still looking for a link to thread on that, but the main thing is to make sure the plastic bits are scrupulously clean, as Armor-All residue or stuff like that will cause the Velcro adhesive to lose its grip quickly.

Have you thought about using snaps? HomeDepot has kits that make it a snap (pun intended) to do.
