Rear Seat in 08 Panel

Has any one taken out the storage units where the rear seat would go and installed a rear seat in a HHR panel?

Make sure you get all the "goodies" if you go this route, seatbelts etc. are obvious but there is a small storage bin right behind the seats that some people don't get when they buy the seats.... best to go to the salvage yard in person and grab the whole deal at one time.

I did it in my '08 Panel.

I drove 115 miles each way to get the Matching Ebony Interior. From a salvage yard in Wisconsin. Mainly because they allowed me to remove the rear seats, belts and everything else Needed to do a COMPLETE Mod Install.

This way I got every nut & bolt all seatbelts and parts for them even the stud Covers that are plastiuc snap on pieces.

While there, I grabbed an extra rear tire cover and adjustable shelf and even the drivers seat pocket netting piece to put on the back of my front passanger seat. Now my seat backs Match and I have more storage for a few DVD's in them.

I was Missing 1 rear seat headrest, but got it from a member here.

Doing the Removal yourself is pretty Easy, just bring a small Propane/MAPP gas torch with you, you'll Need it to heat the seat belt bolts as they used locktight on them at the factory.

Also you get Eveything you Need to do it Right. I did not have to go searching around for bolts and nuts at certain Grades, I Had them.

I took some small ziplock baggies to put all the small bits & pieces in and used a Sharpie marker to label them.

GET the small storage box BEHIND the rear seat you will NEED it!

Easy and Very Functional Mod to your Panel.

DO NOT use the rear seat IF you do not get EVERYTHING needed for a SAFE install.

I myself would Not use "generic" seatbelts, all the holes are already there to install the original factory belts.

I did Not even have to use a tap on mine to clean up the threads.

Get yourself some headrest monitors and let your rear seat passengers sit back and enjoy a movie or video games.

Total cost for everything I got was $216.00

Dang it! Didn't realize I needed to "GET the small storage box BEHIND the rear seat". Someone should add that detail to the "Installing rear seat in 07 Panel" tutorial.

Hi guys. Great to see so many people have tackled adding back seats to a panel. Of people who have done so, anyone use CalTrend seats?
CalTrend® CV399-08LX - Rear Row I Can't Believe It's Not Leather Light Gray Custom Seat Covers

Thanks,
