Remastered SS seats

Followed a seller on Fleabay for a couple, maybe 3 months, with a pair of sport SS seats that they were selling for too much money. After those months had elapsed I made them an offer which they accepted. I still probably paid too much, but that's ok.. I wanted a more adjustable, comfortable seat. Supposedly they came out of a 2010, so it should have been an easy swap with the airbag sensors.. just plug and play. But it wasn't. Because they weren't 2010's... the passenger side had the gel sensor. Luckily I had a spare sensor that I bought from hellshotrods for a pair of seats from a Cobalt that I didn't use.. problem being is I already had the seats reupholstered, and the sensor wouldn't fit under the seat cloth as OEM, so I retrofitted where the gel pad was - under the foam between the foam and springs. It works, no sensor malfunction in terms of it not being identified. But the airbag is now always on, probably from the pressure of the springs. Oh well, that doesn't bother me. It's usually just me in the car anyway. So.. in reupholstering, the seats were all black to begin with the 'SS' logos at the top. Since I don't have an SS, I had the upholster make it easy on himself and my wallet and simply replaced the entire center section with a grey tweed to match the car's interior. Came out great, seats are super comfortable (even for the high mileage the donor vehicle supposedly had) and I now have the lumbar support which I really wished I had on some of my long business trips!

Looks great.
Nice thing is you were able to get the seats from a auto trans SS that has the armrests. The 5 speed SS cars don't have armrests.

Seat height

Those look nice. Are they the same height as the stock seats? The seats in my LT seem an inch or two too high. I am looking out the windshield about 3 inches from the top. About one inch of head clearance to the sun roof. I am 5-10, so I don't expect to be that close to the ceiling. Has anyone lowered the stock seats?

Slightly lower, I think. I'm 5'11" and never had an issue with the seat height, even when stock. With the SS seats, I seem to be sitting a little lower, but they are power and are adjustable in height and rake. Passenger side seems to be about the same as "stock" height.
