removing airbag to paint?
 
Looking to paint to match controls on steering wheel, checked out the how to followed the directions to the letter, put a alen wrench into the hoie started pushing on the clip inside and, the airbag moved a little over on each side but won't come off
what next......?
looking for help!

Removing the horn fuse...
 
ok tomarrow im going to try again this time after pulling the horn (60 fuse) out i think the constant beeping was the main problem.

You might want to consider disconnecting the battery in the trunk. Messing with airbags is not recommended unless you know what you are doing. And disconnect the NEGATIVE battery cable - not the positive.

A very expensive fix if you blow the air bag. You may just want to do a good taping job to cover up what you don't want painted.

Disconnect the battery and wait a minimum of five minutes before touching anything, there is still juice in the system that needs to discharge.

When it comes time to remove the airbag, I simply tell her to get out.

Air bag not getting painted, the plastic trim pieces on the spokes is what's getting painted.

thats correct, and i am going to disconect the battery thanks for your interest
every little bit helps, rather not paint in the car looks better removed

If your airbag is moving when you insert your allen wrenches, you are on the right track. Push the wrench a little harder and try gently pulling out on the airbag. Mine literally fell out in my hand. I had to catch it.
You can then access the screws to remove the parts you desire to paint.
After removing those, you can sit the airbag back in place (without snapping it in) wile you paint and never have to unplug it.
