I like about a 10 degree back tilt...like to feel like I'm sorta in a bucket, that way when the driving gets interesting ..my butt is planted and all my arm movement goes into the steering wheel. Hold back from my dirt tracking days I guess.... seat
is too flat

cornwalis- Just look under the seat, if it's wired. You will see the wiring & end clip laying there.

After seeing Fireman's pic on seat lowering, I did my power seat too.

The fronts just hook in, so any lowering is in the back. Which I am (as Woody stated) "in the bucket", & loving it..

With the Brody knob, I can really lean back & am almost behind the side windows.

If you lower the back bar, the front tabs have to be trimmed to allow it to lean back to the new lower back height.
You can't cut the front tabs down to achieve any lower in front. The tabs are already down as low as possible because they mount to the unibody floor. You will have to cut and weld a new lower plate in for the front hooks.
(this I don't advize unless you are a very experienced fabricator)

Keep us all informed on how this pans out. I just bought an 06 LT with sunroof, head clearance isn't an issue for me (although I can feel my hair bushing the headliner), it's when I roll up to a stop light, and have to hunch over to see it. Thought about cutting up the braces this weekend. but with the vent ducting under the front ones, I decided against it

Lol now now you got my brain working wonder if cobalt seats are more comfortable than the HHR ones and have more just left or maybe a set of Malibu seats or Saturn Aura seats with power just went might be even better have to do some fabrication but they just might fit
