The two-tone GM should have offered

So I have the black/red interior in my SS and I have seen many people paint their "waterfalls" but I never liked the big black square in the middle with the radio and AC controls. So i took the time to take everything apart and paint it the way I thought it should have been done from the factory. Thoughts?

I'm not a fan of an orange waterfall. At least in the photo, it looks orange, and not red like in the seat trim.

Yes, after you've seen a painted waterfall the plain black dash just looks ugly...

I think it looks awesome! Great job! I have the silver accents in my SS and have thought about painting the waterfall silver. It might look alright too because I don't have the stock HU. I have a large GPS unit so I wouldn't have to mess with painting that.

Well done!!

I'll have mine in soon. I went w/ a silver carbon fiber Dinoc wrap. I agree that the sea of blackness that is our dash looks tons better with a color accent on the waterfall.

Not bad, but a little too monochrome for me...I like this one the best (which I shamelessly stole from HHRSSouth...that's his interior in this pic). I would love to do the radio area in silver too, but sounds like work...

In bold: I agree that GM really should've been more creavite with the dash and center console of the HHR. The PT made great use of color (with exterior color accents on the dash), as did the New Beetles...GM should've taken a cue from both vehicles and livened up the interior with some color...starting with the waterfall...
