I looked into doing the same thing. I got the radio face off, but like you, I couldn't find a way to get the blower control open without possibly destroying it.

cobalts have silver radios and climate controls, the radio should fit,not sure about climate. And many cobalt owners would prefer black, maybe try a trade?
