Visor lights idea.

I know that the HHR is missing lights in the visor (along with a Homelink unit) but driving a rental 2011 KIA Optima this week gave me an idea. KIA has put these small lights (maybe 1x2.5") in the headliner aimed towards your face that you have to manually switch on but when you fold the visor back up, the switch on the light is depressed and the light goes out. I have to think that these are very shallow and should be very simple to add (no more difficult than the Homelink mod). I should have snapped a picture of them before returning the Optima, but I didn't...

I got to thinking after i got in the HHR this AM that this might not work the way I wanted it to but probably will. The Optima had either exposed mirrors or there was a sliding cover, whereas the HHR has a flip up cover, which probably won't affect anything as the light is directed at the face, but it may be something to think about before doing. (The other nice little detail on the Optima visor is a little clip integrated into the mirror surround that lets you slide a parking ticket or toll road ticket in there and not lose it.)
