I moved here from Metro-West Boston, where I grew up, a few years ago.
M-W had too much friggin traffic and we have a huge dam here in town.
I just took a ride around backroads in Lancaster & Sterling (neighboring towns) after picking up my midnight munchies at CF.
About 12 leisurely miles put my mpg up to 30.2 and I saw a devil deer!
Her eyes shone red when I took a corner and she ambled off into the woods before I could see any pointy horns or a speared tail.
One of the roads I passed has a tiny field that I saw at least 9 deer at once one night.
It usually has a few in it so I can always show off to friends.
It's nice being so close to farmlands and deep woods.
I drive through M-W every once in a while so I can get cut-off by frustrated people that hate living/working there just to remind myself how bad it sucked.
Take the drive through Acadia Park while you're up they-ah and stop to check out the views from Cadillac Mountain.

We went swimming at the beach there on our honeymoon 7 years ago early July.
The water temp was 52° but most parts of you get used to it after a few minutes.
Other parts don't.

I finally replaced my broken intercooler today.
Of course I had to take a 365 mile road trip to make sure it's good.
It is
I drove up and across NH past Lake Winnipesaukee to Rt. 160 in Kezar Falls, Maine.
I drove North up 160 about 10-12 miles to a sign that said "Hey John, Conway NH is this way".
Rt. 160 is a windy, twisty, hilly rural route with foxes scatting from the lights and hiding in the grass. 4 legged foxes.
The back roads were more of the same and the signs directing to Conway were well placed.
Altogether totally enjoyable.
Then down to the Kanc, up & over to Interstate 93 and 150 or so miles home.
430 miles on this tank with plenty to go.
32.8 MPG with the Stage kit.
Awesome.

I like to drive.
I'm just doing what I like.
I drove down to Staley, NC in a blizzard to get my dog Carmel.
I saw her online and had to go get her after talking to the pound.
Internet romance at it's finest.
