Covered Bridge Thread

Took another 370 mile trip thru NH today.
Took some pix of one of my favorite covered bridges.
It's Durgin bridge near Wonalancet, NH.
I also snapped some sundown pix of Mount Chocorua at Chocorua Lake near Conway NH.
I'm beat so I'll add them here after sleeping.
Glad to see some cool additions here

Some from my phone in September in the Colebrook/Pittsburg, New Hampshire area.
Hey pretty lady, let me take your picture.
Pittsburg wasn't getting help from NH and Canada didn't want them so they seceded from the Union in the 1800s. NH yawned.
Closed to traffic for over 30 years. Notice the arch's lean
Connecticut River near it's beginning @ the Connecticut Lakes
Near Pittsburg NH
Magallaway Mountain logging road near Moose Alley on Rt.3 about 15 miles from Canada

A black bear crossed the road less than 50 yards in front of me up Mountain Road in Erving Mass today.
He's the neighborhood pest, raiding my friend's neighbors' birdfood every day.
I couldn't get my camera in time because he seemed to be in a hurry once he saw me.
I continued out to Leyden, Mass for a powwow and ate a yummy bison burger.
It was too laid back so I decided to drive up to Green River Vermont.
It's only 15 miles from Layden but they are really nice miles.
One of my friends owns a house a couple of hundred yards upstream from the bridge.
I washed off between that ice over there and that other ice over that way after a Lakota sweatlodge in March.
That water is very stimulating to swim in naked in March.
Here's Green River running alongside...wait for it...wait...YES, Green River Road, good guess
Here's a fishing guy about 5 miles down from the bridge
Here's Downtown Green River. Downtown is the bridge. It has it's own zipcode.
And a waterfall
And pretty driving roads

Took a ride back from Keene, NH across southern/central NH and took an unknown road heading the right way on the map.
Never been down it before but hey look what crosses Powder Mill Pond in Greenfield

Great thread - unfortunately I'm always on vacation with the Avalanche when we encounter covered bridges!

The first bridge I visited last year was Pepperell Covered Bridge and it was (and still is) being rebuilt.
It was actually only a set of concrete footings last August.
Here's a link to a nice and big shot of the new bridge from the shore http://www.pepperellcoveredbridge.or...06/Bridge3.jpg
Here's some shots i took of the new bridge in the old place almost ready for traffic.
