He only wrote books for the states he hiked in.
Maine, NH & Mass.

I have some other scenic drives books for all of NE though and I'm expecting a couple more from Epay this week.
I'll see what I can dig up in CT for you later

Some of the books I have mention Rt. 169 from Canterbury going north.
They all mention Litchfield Hills.
Berkshires aren't far from the latter & Sturbridge not far from the former.

Backroads of New England is a super nice book with some great ideas in it.

Scenic Driving New England has some good drives in it.
The Second edition should be at B&N if you can't wait for shipping.

Here's a link from a 2 second Google search http://www.visitingnewengland.com/scenic.html

Here's a 5 tour guide of my favorite area in Southern New England http://www.mohawktrail.com/driving-tours.html

Driving's fun but it's worth it to pull over to lend your full attention to the scene instead of trying to focus on the road/scene/wildlife/pedestrians/etc
A good co-pilot really helps here.

Have fun & post pix

I received the book "Autumn Rambles of New England" today used from Amazon.
I read quite a few glowing reviews so ordered it up.
It goes into a lot of small side trips and looks like a great guide for exploring along the way.
I think I'll get a lot of use from this one.

I also got Drive Around New England, 2nd edition from Amazon this week.
I read in it a bit at the local Barnes & Chernoble, wrote it's name down and saved $6 at Amazon.
For me it's not so much a tour or guide book in itself but has a ton of ideas in many different areas that I plan to explore.
