We had a 36 car pile up on Rt 390, because of a quick white out.

I saw that on the news last night. Scary!

According to Weather.com this morning...as of right now Saturday is forecast as a partly sunny day in the 20's with only a 10% chance of snow sandwiched between snowy days on Friday and Sunday. If this holds we should be OK.

We can meet at say 2:00 ish and leave by 2:15 and still be in Batavia by 3PM.
Anyone meeting up post here so we know who is cruising ??????? So we can wait for you ???
Is this OK with all ?????????????????????????
Is this a professional center? I'll be okay with it as long as I can find it (i.e. what will I be looking for, sign-wise?).

Parking Update

I spoke with the Smokehouse today to firm up plans with them, and asked about parking. Unfortunately, the cool area with the garage graphics right next door is a private lot and parking there runs the risk of tickets. Similarly, he tells me the "church" right across the street usually blocks their lot when they aren't using it for their own purposes so thats out. The manager suggests a public lot about a block down from their place that he thinks should have ample space for us to park our cars together. It's on the corner of Center Street and School Street on the same side as the Smokehouse. I'll try to get there early to stake our claim and wave y'all in!

I recommend Mapquest for those unfamiliar with the location, but here are my own directions you can follow at your own risk: Take the NYS Thruway to the Batavia exit, turn left on Rt 98, take it all the way down to where Rt 63 crosses it (big intersection). Turn left. When you come to a fork in the road, take the left fork that is Rt 33 & 5. Go down about 3 blocks and turn right on Center Street. The Smokehouse will be on your right and the lot is about a block further.

Today's weather prediction for Saturday looks good! Keep your fingers crossed for a sunny day!

Tom,
I suggest we all park in front of the place just to meet up with everyone.
When everyone gets there, we can than see if the lot across the street is available, (most of the time it's open) and park there. If the lot across the street is filled up or blocked, we can use alternate parking.
Any time I have been to the smoke House, the lot across the street has been open. Maybe the manager is concerned that we would take all the parking spaces across the street? Just a thought. I'm not trying to change what you have arranged.

That sounds fine to me, Jim. There's really nothing set up and now that you mention it I'm thinking there just may be enough on-street parking right along Center Street to accommodate us all. As I recall there's not a lot of other retail trade in the immediate vicinity so I'm sure if we wanted to gather all the cars into one lot after we've arrived we can find ample space. I'll scope everything out when I get there.

OK, its getting down to the wire. Who is meeting up locally (Maple & Ayer) first and then driving to Batavia? A previous suggestion was to meet there at 2:00PM and then leave at about 2:15 for Batavia. I can be there (Maple & Ayer) at about 2:15, as my son's hockey goes to 2:00 and it will take me about 15 mins to get there from hockey (Sheridan & NF Blvd).
