2001 Lightning
Well, since I gave the SS the "boot". I never did put up pics of what I replaced it with. So, here you go...

A little bit. I need some actual drag radials for low speed launches. Ie: anything under 40mph. Or it gets alittle sideways. A lot better low end torque than the SS by far but I really can't nail it yet untill I get tires and long bars. Mpg isn't as bad as I thought it would be either. Getting 14 right now vs 19 with the SS.

Don't forget ballast as a way to get a hot pickup to hook up, back in my SS454 days 250lbs worth of plate steel welded under the truck in place of the spare worked wonders. The fiberglass hood and fenders took a fair amount off the nose too, along with some other "weight loss" aids.

Your on LR, right? Currently, mine only has an intake, catback, and tune. I did some porting on the eaton but nothing drastic yet. I have a 4lber waiting to go on. Hopefully, I can get to doing a rod swap over the winter but we'll see if I want to go that route. I currently have 44,000 miles on it.

Mine's about at 44,000, too; +1 to being on LR...a great board. I have a 2lb pulley, and a 4 lber/belt in a drawer. Just have to get around to changing the plugs. I really don't think you'll need to spend the $$$$ on rods with just a 4lber. I also recommend a valve body; easy install. Like your pin striping; did you do it or????

14mpg is awesome for a supercharged V8 full size pickup running 93. I was only averaging about 18.5 with my auto SS. The low end torque is well worth the mpg difference to me. Plus, its alot faster.
Yep, still haven't found a worthy street drag yet. Everyone things it's all show and no go. Intill they hear that Eaton screaming.
Just a FYI, the truck no longer has that ridiculous tach. These pictures were taken a couple days after I bought it. I actually sold it 2 months ago to a guy doing a LS swap in his Blazer.
