Just wanted to show off new paint
Just wanted to show off new paint
I was inspired by a picture of an old pickup on the dealers wall. Just got it back & wanted to show off. I will also put on business graphics, one step at a time.

That's one of the best 2 tone paint methods, IMO. Looks really good with the lines of the vehicle.
Your's looks especially well with the color combo.
I believe a few members, way back, used that same lay-out.

...as I mentioned in the "two tone" paint forum....if you went and installed a windshield visor and painted it red...you'ld have the nostalgic look down pat.
But...that said...it looks absolutely original, and fantastic.

Badges? We don't need any stinking badges?
But seriously, that would even add to the retro look. Where did you get the side badges? I'd also like to have a repro of the front badge from the old pickup (from the first pickup)
Chevy claims that the HHR takes styling cues from the 49 Suburban. I don't know what year the truck in that first picture, but the front half looks a LOT more like the HHR than the front of the Suburban....right down to the 5 bar chrome grill.
