i was in the same boat, except i painted mine gloss black

might i recommend you do yours in gloss red ?! maybe

The 'roaster' looks SO much better painted.
I like Paul's suggestion of painting it red too.

Not sure about red, but not sure why anyone would NOT at least paint it black!! That big silver thing is obnoxious!!! I used bbq pit black on mine, I wanted it to kind of disappear, gloss might make it stand out.

no. the gloss looks good. blends in with the car itself. you can see that from a few posts up in my pic

but yeah, im not positive on red, but atleast black is true.

looks like you painted urs just a primer grey ?!

Not a primer--a flat black BBQ paint... (looks primer 'cause of the camera flash & close-up.. looks really good in person)... Thanks!!

hmm didn't think about BBQ paint. i have tried "hi temp" engine paint, 3 times and it keeps burning off.

have to give that a shot.

The BBQ paint can says it's good to 1200 degrees... If it gets any hotter than that I probably won't be around to care!!

haha true, it my mufflers over 1200* i dont wanne be there...
but i used a high temp engine paint and it still looks great..
