Snow Jam 2014 Atlanta

Well I was unfortunate enough to be out in the ice/snow storm that hit Atlanta last week. I had to abandon my wagon on a side street and walk home. When I came back the next day, this is what I found:

Total damage comes to just over $4k which really isn't bad. I've got plans for it now that's it's going under the knife. I was going to do a full SS conversion but the front end with all the grills and new fogs comes to just shy of $1k so I'm going to just have the front bumper and fogs replaced and I'm opting for a rear SS bumper to replace the busted stock LT bumper. The IPCW tails are all trashed so I'm going to have my stock tails professionally tinted (very lightly). Since they are replacing the tailgate, I'm going to have them plug the wiper hole for me and I'm getting my factory beauty bar all color matched. Also planning to have them paint my door handles and mirror caps as well...all color matched to the body. I'm wanting to get away from all the black. The car is driveable...in fact I've been driving it all week. Hopefully getting it into a shop next week. Stay tuned for finished pics in a few weeks.

Sorry to hear and see what happened ChefHHR. The wife works near the Galleria, and when the snow first started falling, she told her co-workers she was leaving. Left at 12:30pm and got home to Snellville at 2:15 safe and sound in her 06 2LT HHR

Sorry to hear That sucks that someone hit and ran though. I read a story where they busted someone using a tow truck to steal some of the abandoned cars up there.

We didn't have the gridlock like you guys did up there and ours started later in the evening so most were already home or on the way. Oour work let us out an hour early just as it started sleeting.

Thanks guys! Tail lights are trashed unfortunately. Going to replace with the factory tail lights for now. Wanting to get away from all the black. Even decided earlier to keep them untinted. I talked to the guy this afternoon that's doing all the work and he's doing at his house and is going to save me as much money as possible. I can't wait to see the finished product!

Went out today and popped the dent out of the front bumper and reattached my front valance. I think its going to work without replacement. Looks like I'll be able to get my coilovers!

Only 4k with the quarter damage on each side? Sounds light! I did 3k for two fascias, a rocker molding, and my IC....and I wrote mine per State Farm guidelines.

Yeah the guy I took my car to said he didn't figure enough in on the quarter panels but he said its only off by a few hundred dollars. The bumper covers are cheap...the hatch unpainted came to just under $700 for a new one. We're going to try to get a used hatch to save some money. Gonna leave the front end as is since I was able to pop out the dent. There's some stress marks where the dent was but its not really noticeable and I'd rather put that money toward my coilovers. I've got a guy that's going to do all the work on the side.

Jeez man, I'm really sorry to see this! I avoided getting out in it because of the sheer craziness that was the roads. I'm off Camp Creek & I-285 now, so it was just utter madness. And then this other round we just had...
