CEL only means a code is set, there is no reason to assume it is the same code as before.

And here we go.......... ran the code fore the new CEL.......... P2270- which points to O2 sensor #2, it was replaced literally 3 months ago with an AC Delco one. im sure there is a warranty at the mechanic shop where they replaced it. anything else it could be?

You're 1 digit short on that code. DTCs are 1 Alpha character followed by 4 numeric characters.

So if you replaced the sensor, and it didn't fix the problem, then it's something else.

From obd-codes.com

The causes for this DTC may include:
Exhaust leak near O2 sensor
Contaminated or failed HO2S2 (Sensor 2)
HO2S2 wiring/circuit problem
Loose installation of HO2S2
Fuel pressure incorrect
Faulty fuel injector
Engine coolant leak
Faulty purge solenoid valve
PCM has failed

Fuel pressure test
inspect the under hood purge valve, it should be closed.
inspect the flex pipe. Cracks

Minor correction: OBD codes start with a letter then a 4 digit hex code, some do have letters in them. I think it's hex, maybe octal.

P2270 points to #2 O2 sensor STUCK LEAN. That means that either the sensor is bad or the is an electrical problem.
I would check the wires and connectors to the #2 O2 sensor. Especially suspecting pin A and B

Yes, there are a handful of those oddball codes. Thanks for the correction.

I will start here, I did remove the flex pip a few months ago thinking that was the problem but it was good, so ill take this to the mechanic who did the work and see what they say.
