Angry 08 HHR Door locks

I just bought a 08 hhr panel. all 5 of the door locks dont work at all.
when i press any of the door lock/unlock buttons in the car...nothing no sounds nothing even trying to lock/unlock
when i press lock/unlock on fob the headlights to react (unlock headlights come on/lock marker blink all light normal? )
I have check the door lock fuse in the pass foot well 15A it is fine.
so this leaves me scratching my head... its got all the power it needs but no lock/unlock....

Ideas?

A power interruption has the RCDL module losing it’s mind , the 2008 model year required a reflash at the dealership or locksmith

some reading and information for you

If the tire pressure reads ----- and you cannot reset the tire positions according to the Owner Manual instructions then you need the firmware update/upgrade.

They don't lock when you push the plunger down?
How about locking when you put it into gear?
Is there a fuse in position #11 underhood fuse box? if so remove it.
Previous owner had after market equipment?

I can manually lock yes
putting into gear No lock
no fuse in 11.
no aftermarket

Remote start on the fob DOES work fine also

the interior buttons or fob don't do anything it's like the electric door lock system is dead. but the fuse is fine

As Don said:

Do you see the tire pressures on the DIC ? (Drivers Information Center)

If Remote start works, the car "thinks" it has locked the doors...

I would think the next step would be to pull the drivers door switch and check for power or ground continuity at the switch.

Or, after looking at the schematic for a 2006, (which I think is the same as the 2008), I'm not sure. The circuit is a little more complex than I thought. Seems there are 3 relays internal to the BCM (cabin fuse panel).
Here's the schematic. Maybe Donbrew has an opinion on where to look next.

Did they ever work right? What happened before the started acting up?
Are you sure the liftgate does not lock? The reason I'm asking is it works differently; it just disables the release switch.
The lock on gear shift cannot be turned off. I wonder if the previous owner was one of those crazies and somehow defeated it.
There are a few options for unlocking automatically, see the section starting on page 3-54 of your Owner Manual.
Since this is a panel the side access doors don't really lock the just don't unlatch and they are controlled differently. The lifgate is controlled by a relay block and fuse on the driver side strut tower and fuse #10 on the underhood box. The rear access doors are controlled by a relay/fuse block under the rear right quarter trim panel.

If you get the codes read there should be some B codes lurking about that will narrow things down.

There is connection between the front doors and the rear doors.

Have the doors or door trim panels ever been removed? The rod on the knobs must be in routed exactly right or they bind.
Disconnect battery negative cable for a minute or so, not a long time since it is a 2008.
Check the relays and fuses on the extra fuse blocks.
If the fob has ever been replaced or someone re programmed the RCDLR chances are they accidentally deactivated the rear doors and liftgate. Dealer mechanics are famous for this.
Check if fuse #26 on the BCM has power on both sides. If it is not that it must be either space aliens or a bad BCM (more likely space aliens).

The very odd thing is that Remote start is a combo of fob buttons Lock + Panic; so the fob is sending the lock signal and the RCDLR is receiving it. That means the all of the door latches are broken.
The other oddity is that the hatch locks by not sending a signal.
The rear side doors on a panel are on an entirely different circuit from the front doors and the liftgate. The side rear doors don't lock they just don't open.
The serial data line is working since remote start works
The only connection between the 3 systems is the BCM. Well, fuse #10 under hood supplies both the liftgate and the rear side doors.

If this is not BS somebody has done something to damage multiple wires and/or the BCM or the fob just needs new buttons.

Then it is a completely different story if this is actually a AA5 not a panel.
