1 more question about AC growl and TSB
I've read a lot of threads and posts on here and have seen a lot about the infamous growl or rattlecan noise the AC makes when accelerating or idling with the compressor on. I have looked up the TSB and called the dealer and it's $600 just for parts and since my 06 is out of warranty I've found the parts cheaper online.
Has anyone done the repair yourself?? I want to make sure I'm getting the correct parts and do it right! Thanks

It's really wide spread and all the other threads are havin the dealer do it. It's replacing a condenser hose and an evaporator hose. I believe the new parts are a larger diameter which I'm assuming provide less congestion. Just was hoping someone has already done it themselves

the original evap/cond hoses were solid alum ... the replacement assembly(which totally fixed the growl) has a line section made of rubber. this section absorbes the pulsations in the lines.....that's the growl that you're hearing..............

It affected some early production units, and I believe there was a TSB issued on the problem in early 2007.
I wouldn't describe it as "infamous", more of an annoyance for those with HHR's that growled with the A/C on.

well known for some bad quality or deed.
Anyway I ordered the parts that were listed on the TSB and I have an 06. There's a bunch of threads about it but not do it yourself threads. Thanks
