2006 Chevy HHR 2.2 Crankshaft Position Sensor

I hate to get right to it but I'm a disabled Navy Vet trying desperately to find where the crankshaft position sensor is on a 2006 chevy hhr 2.2. I have heard two different things and seen 1 video that makes it look simple and another that says I have to remove the starter to get to it. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. This is an emergency as I have an appointment at the VA tomorrow. I already have the part. Just need to know where to put it.

(edit) If someone could point me to where this question has already been answered that would be awesome! Not used to message boards...

Can let this pass without asking what you’re trying to fix? Only asking because it seems hundreds if not thousands of owners misinterpret P0016/P0017 thanks to confusing interweb info and end up solving the wrong problem and replacing sensors for nothing. (In your case only P0016.) What code(s) and issues are you having?
