2006 engine swap with 2008 g6

i had a blown head gasket but run great...bought a 2008 g6 engine with low miles..installed and now it floods and bogs down...put all the sensors off the old engine and intake still the same thing....guy told me i have to get ecm re flashed...i dont know...ive built hundreds of cars...ready to pull the engine and trans and put a v-8 in it

Welcome to the site, the 2006 2.4 engine is an odd duck , the 2008 is not compatible.
even the 2.2 is very different.
yes physically they’re an match but internally and electrically, way different.

the junkyard said it was a 2008...is there a way i can tell ?...some numbers on the block ?

There should be #'s in front of the oil filter housing, can you post those ?
