Wow a engine with 23,000 miles for a thousand bucks. Almost sounds to good to be true.

 

They're out there. My daughter trashed the ecotec in her 03 cavalier through poor maintenance (don't ask, you can't make your grown kids do anything, especially 1200 miles away) and compatible ecotecs with decent mileage were all over the place for anywhere from 800 - 1200 bucks.

Get a warranty on any used engine and hold them to it.
