2006 HHR Electrical Issues
2006 HHR Electrical Issues
Sent my 2006 hhr to the shop last saturday and they said it was the fuse box after being in the garage for almost 3 days or the harnse to the fuse box .Is it true that chevy has no more harness or doing away with them. The dealer told the garge they were obsolete. The garage originally thought it was the ingition and key issue because of the locks were engage and disengaging and speedo was "skipping".then it just wouldnt start , though it was allowing the ac etc to run, battery totally fully charged. HMMM

The fuse boxes might be obselete , a good mechanic should know how to split it and inspect the wiring.
This seems like a ground wire problem and a weak and dying battery
Mine was pronounced dead at 12.4 volts.

Here the results of my car being in the shop for a week.. They just ran the test and replaced the fuse box. Still having the locks engagnig /disengaging and speedo issue and engine runs rough.
codes were the following before the fuse box was replaces:
po443(evap leak) (just had inspected and emissions test all past )
P2101 throttle actuator Postion
P1682 Ignition swithc ciricut(which they said was caused by the fuse box
u0101? lost communicationw tcm
alarm codes B3055
b3060

Why was it in the garage to begin with?
What test, before replacing fuse box?
B3055 & B3060 are for the key immobilizer not having power.
From the information supplied, I think they are throwing expensive parts around.

Have both of the ignition switch related recalls been performed? You can check online, there is a link in our recall forum.
You say it won't start, but does it crank? The AC doesn't run unless the engine is running. It does sound like a dying battery.

The car would not turn on / start but the ac etc all worked. The car power steering light came on so we went to change the fuse under the hood and had the battery neg disconnected because a friend was going to check the fuse box for us. (Because of the locks disengaging and engaging. They wanted to make sure there was nothing funky with the fuse box because we were going through the power steering fuse too much and often. But it started to pour down rain, not even 10min after we disconnected it) Hooked the battery back up and it would not start. Took out the battery to take it to the auto part store since it under warranty and less than 5months old. They said it fully charged and the hhr was inspected in April. They said the battery was good at that point as well. The only work we had done to it since Feb was the starter and inspection/brakes and a new tire. They ran the test because of the code p1682 showed up according to them.
I'm sure the fuse is fine and tried to reset or clear it off the Dic then it comes back on.
So if anyone can help or make a suggestion.

Yes all the recalls have been done on the vechile.I contacted Chevy dealer we bought it from. It was running good until we had the issue with the battery dieing in Feb. and the power steering/starter went bad.
