2006 HHR fan not turning off...

Hello,

This morning two hours after I had gone into work, I came back outside to the fan still running under the hood. Of course, when I tried to get into it later to go to lunch, the battery was dead. This is not the first time this has happened. My mechanic has put in a new battery and changed out a blown EPS fuse, but every so often I find the cooling fan not shutting off, my battery dead, and EPS fuse blown when someone jumps my car. Any idea why this keeps happening?

Thanks

My bet is the fan relay (#50) in the underhood electrical center.

I agree with changing the relay if the new relay starts sticking again then I would look at the cooling fan. It maybe pulling high amps welding the contacts in the relay. As for the eps fuse that happens when it is jump started improperly.

For your EPS fuse blowing - read your manual for the correct jumpstarting procedure -it's an easy mistake to make otherwise.
