That procedure didn't work for my car, the light blinks after I do that procedure and the car will not start. Is there any other way to bypass that? The module the Anti-Theft module as a big crack in the middle of it so basically it's broken, that procedure didn't work in starting that car it's a 2006. Thank you

Step 1: Insert key and turn to on. (Not start) The security warning light will be on. Leave in this condition for 10 min, or untill light goes out.
Turn key off

Step 2: Turn to on (not start) the security warning light will be on. Leave in this condition for 10 min or untill light goes out.

Turn Key off

Step 3: Turn to on (not start) the security warning light will be on. Leave in this condition for 10 min or untill the light goes out.

Turn Key off

Step 4: Car will start!!!!!!

I hope this save someone a trip to the dealer.

I love the design of the HHR but hate GM for making it sooo cheap.[/QUOTE]

I went to through all the steps in trying to bypass it and still doesn't work, I did the steps with the 10-minute on and off ignition steps. I don't have a solid light but I do have a blinking lock light, is there any other steps that I can do to get this thing started?

Why not get a new one? About $35 on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...acat=0&_sop=15

How did it get broken?

You get the same answer; your battery is dead. The anti-theft only disables the car if you are using the wrong key. The anti-theft light comes on and the car locks down when the battery dies.

This is the person who had a similar issue a few months ago. He supposedly replaced the AT module (as it was visibly broken) after that posting.

We never heard back on what the resolution was, or if it was actually resolved at that time.

Thank you for your reply but the battery is fully charged, starters brand new, ignition switch is brand new, the relays all work, fuel pump comes on, dash lights come on when you turn the key on.

I replace the anti theft module around four months ago, any more ideas I can probably get?
