Welcome to the forums.

If you don't have a copy of the Owners Manual, you can download it from here - https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gene...s-manual-3074/ .

The location of the various fuses should be well detailed in the manual - and with the various issues, it might be more than one fuse.

With the age of the vehicles getting on, I think we are seeing an increase in electrical problems. You can check the relays by swapping with another one that works - they should be labelled on the underside of the fuse box covers. However if none of that pans out, you might have to grab a multimeter and start tracing power and checking the grounds for the various circuits.

Hopefully that helps a bit.

I think i found the solution.

Sorry for my bad writting! but i,m Dutch so... Last weekend a lot of cars where signing at me, when i stopped i found out the problem. Tail lights out of order and also the license light, the mini led light in the car and the consol light.
I checked all the fuses and started to look at the relays. The relay under the hood (the one below (i thought no. 68 or 67?) was the problem...but! It looks like it was working fine, i could hear the click when the lights where turning on. When i opend the relay i could see the problem, a metal peace was curved. It,s easy to bent this peace in it,s original place. All the light's are working now!

Checking issue in the sunlight

Hey everyone.

So, this recently happened to me. Last night, driving home. Cars honking behind me, blah blah blah.
Cop pulls me over and brings up the issue of the back light.
Again, like the OP.
Console/dome light not working.
Back lights non-functioning however...

Turn signals fine.
Back up lights fine.
Hazards fine.

After reading the discussion, looked at the fusebox and say the relay. To my knowledge, fine. It was slightly loose but otherwise looked fine. (Probably will go buy another today)

It may be dumb but I should be able to tell if those back lights are on during the day right?
Obviously the dome lights won't function till dusk.

I'm going on a road trip starting tomorrow and luckily I found out last night as opposed to being on the road.

Thanks!

What model & year?

brake lights?

I would look at fuses first then bulbs.

Post #22 seems to hold a solution.

look on the diagram under the fuse box cover or in your Owner Manual for the relay & fuse marked "parking lamp" probably relay #68 fuse #69, but you said exactly like the OP, without details for your car.

Technically speaking; it is the operators responsibility to do a walkaround before each drive.

No Owner Manual? There is a link in my sig.

My bad.
Its a 2006 HHR.

It's the running lights that are at issue.
When parked, works.
Reversing, works.

But no back lights when driving.
We even switched out a similar volt Relay on the fuse box (Individually switched for both #68 & #69)

Did you check the bulbs? Yes, they have been known to both blow at the same time.

Then there is the wiring back by tail lights and the ground back there to. link:https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...cations-56504/

But, as has been mentioned; the fuse box halves come loose. There is a link to a youtube back there a ways.
