2009 63k mi valve job!!!

So I had a P0303, took it to dealer. Their compression check came up w/80-85 on 1,2, & 4, and 70 on #3. They proclaimed it was ONLY cyl 3, pulled the head. Claimed the valves were carbonized. At 63k miles. $2600 to replace valves, valve job, check head, replace w/all the gaskets and crap. Nowhere does my paperwork show they rechecked the compression.
Should my lemon have better compression? It's the low end model. My mileage has never topped 25, and I only use that "Top Tier" gas. I've put thousands of dollars into this car over the last 5 years. Even when the ignition recall was done, they used RECALL PARTS, so it had to be done again when my key was stuck in the ignition.
I've done every darned thing they've recommended, but man, I'm ready for a Toyota after this. I've contacted corporate to see if they can offer recompense or whatever, but I sure ain't holding my breath.

Sounds like your main gripe is with the shop doing the work. If it was not under warranty why go there? I bet there are 10 GM dealers in LA.

Some Toyota’s had same parts , so hmm not my choice.
Yes they should have done an after test to confirm they fixed the low compression in #3
you could ask them to preform one, but I don’t think it’s a good point now.
perhaps just put this behind you and enjoy your HHR. Sometimes we just need to proceed, and not wonder if we did the right thing!
Sometimes it’s a matter of knowledge, if you lack and they preyed on you to deceive you out of your hard earned money, you need to prove it , beyond a shadow of doubt.
Sometimes knowledge to know when to accept life’s lessons and move on.
