2010 Gentle Roll Over Update

I Was told I would need to replace the roll over sensor and have something reprogrammed at a cost of about $700. Took it to my mechanic and he called me within 24 hours to tell me it was ready, and I owed him just over $100. He told me when it rolled that it broke the starter in half. He replaced it, refilled all the fluids and changed the air filter. I am rocking and rolling again. Sure have missed her.

I wonder how a rollover could break the starter in half. I wonder how you could replace a starter $100. Most places charge almost $100 to do the air filter.

Don. My guess. Maybe it knocked a starter wire loose. Yeah, just changing the fluids (engine oil, trans fluid and maybe brake fluid ) would be well over $100.

Well I’m confused. This accident happened a year ago. Just now getting it fixed for $100 ? And no mention of the air bags or the sensors being replaced ?

Ok, sorry, I'll fill you in. My friend did not even know about the roll over sensor so I did not have him look at it. After researching the problem on this hhr forum, which is where I got the "replacing the roll over sensor and getting something programmed for about $700" which I don't have that kind of money, so it has been sitting. I've been driving my GMC truck. Then we had a freak hail storm and it busted the windshield out. I called my friend for a referral for a glass man. He told me to let him look at it, so I had my neighbor haul it to his shop. Airbags....all of the side airbags deployed but not the front ones, so no air bag sensors were replaced. I hope this clears some confusion for you. So for less than $500, I got my GMC windshield replaced and my hhr running again.

So the side air bags deployed and you haven’t fixed them ? Are you riding around with those air bags hanging down in the way ?
Guessing you don’t have inspections where you live.

Doesn't explain a $100 starter or how it got broken in half.
