2nd water leak solved after butyl patch.

On the TSB I ended up doing the hinge baffle kidney plug area. I had foam
blocking the path to let water drain thru the rocker. After cutting most of that
foam I poured a cup of water to test water flow. We had the rain from Issac move through last night..no leak! I knew water wasnt coming thru the butyl patch repair, and I checked the door water deflector, mirror etc. I also sealed the kidney plug w/ silicon..so far-so good..

Old thread I know, but the TSB is a bit confusing to me.

'hinge baffle kidney plug area' is this the black larger plug (4" in size roughly) behind the interior kick panels, a couple inches off the floor? They are sealed with a black silicone?

Does anyone know about this? I have a leak and I suspect that it’s this… but the original pdf isn’t showing anymore as it’s been 12 years.
I appreciate any thoughts on what “Kidney Plug” is being spoken about.
