ABS Control Module for a 2011 HHR LT 2.4L
Hello all,
I'm getting an error code that indicates the ABS control module has an internal fault and I'm trying to locate a replacement part.
The P/N is 20827127 but according to every parts place I've contacted it is back ordered.
On eBay I see an ABS complete system (Controller and pump) pn:20795797 which seems to have the controller attached to it.
Looking at the pictures of the complete module the Electronics seems to have the P/N 20799659.
Is this compatible with the 20827127 module?
Also I'm being told by the dealer that the module will require programming, Is this true for a used unit or only a new unit?

Thank you for responding.
Did you add the link to the manuals or is that some smart ad? I clicked on it and it wanted to install a browser extension. I have security concerns when I'm asked to install S/W from links I'm not familiar with.

You could post up the actual error code number. Ex: P001, P002 etc. With the actual code number we may be able to tell you if you're chasing the correct fix.
Lots of times a description of codes like "internal fault" is not exactly what it means.
There are some pretty smart members on this site.

Fault code C0550.
Shop tech write up reads...
"Tech verified customer concern perform EEC test fault code C0550 present for ABS module
Performance performed pin-point test found ABS module has internal failure."

I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that the module is bad. (Maybe I should, but I wouldn’t, lol.) Power problems (like a bad ground) and transients (like a spark or a power surge or an EMP from a nuclear detonation) can destroy microprocessors but can also just cause a temporary hiccup.

Appreciate the inputs. I may need to attempt a module repair if I can't find a replacement unit.
