ac clutch problems, codes, rear hatch won't open
hi i am new here been reading alot about ac problems
i think i am finding something for me here
what i have is my ac unit does not want to turn on i changed the ac compressor and sill does not turn the compressor on
now i read on how to jump it from the fuse panel when i jump start the clutch it does run the way it gets cold and the radiator starting there has to be something other then the ac not running
i want to ad that the other comressor that i switched did the same thing
what i need is some of the problems that are relating to my hhr lt 2009 with 92,000
on why the clutch or ac does not start i am used to pt cruiser but these are not the same

Welcome to the site.
Straight jumping or direct jumping just means that you are bypassing the rest of the Hvac's system electronics.
Since the compressor operates and cools when jumped, the mechanical parts of the AC must be working. Time to figure out the electrical issue.
Did you replace the compressor by mistake ? Guessing at the problem ? Or was the old compressor bad.
If you're not familiar with automotive AC's and repairing them correctly, it may be time to let a pro look at it.
If you want to tackle it yourself we'll try and help. Not much info so far as to what else you've checked so it's hard to guess.
Let us know about any CEL's as Oldblue asked. Then we can proceed.

after the trip home got a good deal on a used compressor replaced then so vacumned it was down to 28 it does not show a leak going to put guages on and get better numbers
first thing i did run jumpers to test the clutch you can here it click
no codes put 15 oz. plus some pag oil

The code we are worrying about will come up early; it has to do with the engine not warming up fast enough. Many times after you shut down for a while then start back up the A/C will miraculously work. It could be a pending code that would not set the light.
Other than that; the pressure switch or the control knob switch or the diode have been known to go bad.

P0172 would pertain to MAF sensor,
https://www.obd-codes.com/p0172
either a dirty or loose connections
All those codes , would indicate a low voltage level, have your battery load tested.
P0102 also MAF
