Alarm wont stop going off

The alarm wont stop going off on my 2012 hhr. I tried the key in the door. I tried the key in the inginition and you can still hear the clicking. I pulled the battery for several minutes and it kept going after I reconnected and tried turning it off again. I tried hitting the panic button and it just makes the alarm beep faster and the door knobs go up and down as the horn goes off.

I searched for alarm issues and got a lot of hits most said to lock the car with the key then unlock it with the key.
When my battery died back in April 2011 the alarm went off, how old is your battery?
There was also conversation of a problem with locking the doors with the fob and then using the key in the door to unlock , this apparently sets of the alarm
Try a search of "how to turn off the alarm on HHR" for further info
