eBay is your friend

I just had my and girlfriend's fobs fixed, two for $30, by an individual who markets his services as if he were selling an item on eBay. Quick turnaround and both work perfectly now. Since opening them up seems to contribute to their breaking, I'm not looking inside to see how they were repaired until the battery needs replacement.

You shouldnt have to take it to the dealer if it was working before at some point, the car should still remember that remote.

I must say that these fobs are cheaply made. I've already had to solder the battery contacts on both of ours, and on one of them, I ordered the keylessfix thing to correct the contacts issue. It still is somewhat temperamental though even with the keylessfix thing.

Mine was fixed for about $10. eBay replacement rubber button pad. The bottom of the buttons have a carbon coating to make the switch but it wears off. That's why the panic button will still work.

I fixed my secondary one with the solder method, that is so typical of all GM key fobs...but now the one I fixed when I try to use the remote start feature it sets off the car alarm instead of starting the car....I cant seem to figure out why and the only thing that I have seen in relation to this is that it possibly needs to be re-soldered as in maybe I crossed some contacts or something?? So odd since the rest of the fob works fine, just the remote start has an issue.
