Reporting back, all is well! I replaced the serpentine belt without issue, battery seems ok. I made a tensioner wrench by tig welding a square stock nub to a piece of scrap. Another 'special tool' for the collection. Also swapped out my front struts and sway bar links. Thank you all for your input.
