Nope not too simple. Wastegate stuck issue, but as you said that is a 2 week or so wait before anything can really even happen. I was just basically told oh we will call you once the part comes in but it is backordered leaving me with a crappy rental (saturn astra) with a guy who reaked of BO had before me that hadn't been cleaned So I am not to happy. Didn't even have the car a week. I am going to call them in a week and nag that if they don't have the part to order me a new turbo.

 

what part did they order? If its the actuator solenoid they will probably tell you there are none in the US and they have to get it from the Mfg. Unless they BS you like my first dealer did, and say they got it in 3 days... then I found out by the 2nd dealer it was never replaced... right after I lost all power.

If you do a search on here, there are posts back to last year of people being told this... IMO do not wait for them to call you, although my dealer went the new Turbo route before I mentioned it to them.

some one on here posted that they got their dealer to take one off a car (Solstice??) on the their lot.

did you at least get a big enough loaner??

 

Well I got a big enough loaner, but it hadn't been cleaned before they gave it to me. I left it outside today with all 4 doors open to air out and spray fabreeze all over and cleaned the interior. The BO from the previous driver gave me a headache yesterday in the 25 minute commute to my work. It was bad, lol Saturn Astra. I would rather have a colbalt lol.

I forget the exact part but pretty sure he said wastegate solenoid. He told me it was on backorder and they would call me once the part came in. I figure I will give them a week and then call and complain for them to just order the turbo or take it off another car. I tried to tell him on the phone it had been backordered for months (as I had seen posts from last year with that info) but he didn't listen.

I think you should go to the mechanic nearby your place. I think you should take it seriously.

 

I did tiresmokindad, it is current sitting at the dealership for the next who knows how long.


Talked to GM though yesterday and they were calling the dealership. I am calling the dealership on wednesday as that is 1 week from when they ordered the part and asking for a ETA and if they can't give me one demanding a new turbo. If they will not I am calling back my number at GM customer to complain more. I don't see how some of your guys put up with waiting so long for parts. To me it is totally unacceptable. My GTO didn't even suck this much for getting parts.

 

So called today.

They said they replaced the wastegate and I still had another code, so now they are waiting on a new turbo. I am hoping to have my car back in the next week, he couldn't give me and ETA.
