Hello! So while replacing my front rotors and brake pads, I discovered that one of the caliper guide pins in the passenger side bracket was seized. Instead of going through the hell of using a torch or penetrating fluid, I decided to just get a new bracket with new guide pins. My only problem now is, how do I properly put it together? Check out the photos below - I have a gold and silver guide pin which appears to have different ends and two little rubber boots (which I heard are bushings that go inside the bracket where the guide pins go). Is one pin designated for the bottom and the other the top?For the big rubber boots, do I have to force it in just enough so it sits in the hole? Thanks to all who reply!
Dont forget to lube those pins with a high temp synthetic brake caliper grease. The caliper grease is expensive, regular grease just cant handle the heat.

Good Synthetic caliper pin grease is less than $2. for a small package. It's more than enough to do the front pins & abutment brackets etc. Cleaning the old grease out is the key step tho, since one grease may NOT be compatable with another. Do it once & do it right.
Ideally, you would have positioned the caliper pin with the bushing at the front. (Have raced with it reversed. Might not be a huge deal). And, yeah, use high-temp grease. The boots just pop on, and it should be straight-forward otherwise, I think.
