The butyl patch water funnel...

I figured this would be what I found after researching info here. Fixed it today w/ GM replacement. No more wet passenger floor...thanks to this forum, easy fix.

Makes you wonder who designed this and why a more durable cover, like metal or plastic wasn't used!

Very true, Im glad I fixed this before the carpet was ruined.

Yep, poor design indeed, was done away with after the early 07 model year..
