Sounds like the song I've been singing about the running boards. I saw this mesh awhile ago on eBay. Almost bought it but held back because the seller wasn't registered. Anyone (Mike) know where this could be had??

Good luck there Mike. I'll go with a Bumpstops model for now until you convince GM to give us all factory engineered guards. I hope the planets are aligned in the right way when you talk to them.

Nope. The only thing it could scratch is the inside of the bumper which will never see the light of day anyway. It's already trimmed on top and bottom with a metal strip, so only the sides are raw mesh. These were folded at the ends so there were no sharp edges.

It never sounds good when people say "good luck!'

Thinking about it more. If I pay $800 and have my condenser replaced, what's going to happen next week when I'm driving the same stretch of road and hit another rock? I'll have to pay another $800 - that's what!

This will be a recurring problem for HHR owners everywhere if it is not addressed by GM now.

And to give it that "Mr. Bumpstops" deluxe treatment

What would you think of a full perimeter mesh lower grille that mounts on the outside like this:

Name: S40V50Chrome.jpg
Views: 27
Size: 43.8 KB

We could have it made in either Chrome or Black finish...

Thoughts?

Yea thats cool OK, but what's the price point? I know you're gonna say if it's less than $800 it's a bargain right now...

Howz about $799? (Gotta pay for the tooling, ya know?)

Seriously, - I'll have to look into it.
